honeymuse: Jean-Léon Gérôme The End of Sitting, 1886 Oil on Canvas 16.14 inch  x 18.90 inch This painting possibly originated from one of the artist’s photographs since he’s featured himself within it, sheathed in a smock. He also was a sculptor and teacher and worked quiet wonderfully within orientalism.  I adore equally each of his interior paintings and nudes, and also especially the bathing works…which first caught my eye a few months back.
